St. Catherine of Siena
Feast Day: April 29
Patroness of fire prevention, illness, the United States, Italy, miscarriages, people ridiculed for their faith, sexual temptation, and nurses
St. Catherine of Siena, who was later declared a Doctor of the Church, dictated over 400 letters which were influential in getting the Papacy to return to Rome and facilitating peace. She is known for her great fasting, which is likely influential in her young death. The mystic had a deep devotion to our Lord and followed His call.
“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.”
